Design Online - Choosing The Best Ink Colors For Your Design

Finding the right color for your custom socks is one of the fun parts of desinging, however it can also be a bit tricky if this is your first time designing socks. Sometimes, certain color combinations look better in computer screen than they do in real life.

This is because lighting in the lab is ideal, there are no shadows nor dim light. Computer screens often have filters to make colors appear more vibrant, hence this makes your daily computer look more visually exciting and it does alter the colors that you can see in the lab.

Here are some quick guidelines and tip  to choose color combination that rocks!

• When using lighter base colors, be careful of pastel colors such as yellow, powder-blue, or light pink. These colors are visible on the socks, but may not be legible from a distance. Using a dark outline to lighter color design can highlight important messaging such as text, making it more legible!
• Darker colored socks look great with lighter ink colors, however please be careful about darker colors like cardinal, red, or forest. Again, they'll look great in the Design Lab, but when they print sometimes the socks color distorts the ink color, making them look more flat than intented. When we see colors like these in any order, usually we'll give you a call and offer a color that will print like the color you chose in the Design Lab
• Generally speaking, we do not recommend to print in darker base colors such as black, dark blue or deep red. The colors will come out as intented however, the white seams will contrast when you actually wear the socks as they're stretched.
